Business Studies Grade 11Introduction

The subject of Business Studies is structured to develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that are neccessary to enable learners to participate responsibly, productivily and effectively in business activities both in the formal and informal sectors.

Business Studies is integrated with other Commerce subjects such as the following:

• Mathematics
• Economics etc.

• Business Roles
• Business Operations

The Purpose for learner in Grade 10-12 to do Business Studies in school has the following:

1. Businesses and individuals csn ensure economic growth and personal financial empowerment in our country.
2. But this requires informed, imaginative, participative, contributing and reflective business practitioners to perform a range of business operations.

This subject will ensure any grade 10-12 learner the following:

• acquire and apply essential business knowledge, skills and principals.
• create business opportunities while respecting human rights and the environment.
• apply basic leadership and management skills and principles to accomplish business goals
• learners will have lifelong knowlege and how to manage themselves and the activities.
• learners who do business studies will be able to persue either formal employment or entrepreneurial activities.
• learners will be able to be committed to developing others through business ventures.
