Learning Outcomes and Assessment Standards

Hi here is a list of important information as a learner you need to know!!!!!!!!

Business Studies for Grades 10-12 has 4 respected Learning Outcomes. The first learning outcome is:

• Learning Outcome 1: Business Environments, the learner is able to demonstrate knowlege and analyse the impact of changing and challenging environments on a business practice in all sectors.

This outcome deals with the elements of the business enviromens which are the micro, macro and market and the activities that delt within. Businessess can control these environments to varying degrees. All business so called practitioners need to be aware that of these enviroments and the degree to which they can influence them. Primary, Secondary and Tertiary sectors are delt with within this outcome.

• Learning Outcome 2: Business Ventures, the learner is able to identify and research viable business opportunities ans to explore these and related issues through creation of achievable bsuiness ventures.

This outcome focuses on on the generation of ideas, research, drawing up and presentation of business plans and business information and the development and implementation of achievable actions plans.

• Learning Outcome 3: Business Roles, as a grade 11 learner you will able to demonstrate and apply contemporary knowledge and skills to fulfil a variety of business roles.

This outcome focuses mainly on preparing learners to apply self management skills and to be professional business practitioners, collaborators and team members, innovators, entrepreneurs and of course citizens.

• Learning Outcome 4: Busines Operations, a grade 11 learner is going demonstrate and apply a range of management skills and specialised knowledge to perform business operations successfully.

This outcome focuses on the following eight business functions:

1. Administration
2. Finance
3. General management
4. Human resources
5. Marketing
6. Production
7. Purchasing
8. Public relations

Concern for my students

If you have decided to be part of the business studies grade 11 group at any school, i will provide all those learners will the neccessary revision for grades 10-12 with old examination papers and memo's, control test and the types of assignments one will need to complete in the near future.

Don't be scared in that if you take this subject your will fail tremedously, that will never happen as long as you are keen, energetic, relaxed and comfortable in doing this particular subject. Remeber as an educator my role is not to fail you but to make you feel that you have achieved this subject with the help from me to pass your subject business studies.

this is a Scale of achievement for Grades 10-12 (Business Sudies) which gives you a Rating Description of Competence Marks which will tell you how you have performed in Grade 11 if you consider on doing Business Studies.

Business Studies Grade 11Introduction

The subject of Business Studies is structured to develop the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that are neccessary to enable learners to participate responsibly, productivily and effectively in business activities both in the formal and informal sectors.

Business Studies is integrated with other Commerce subjects such as the following:

• Accounting
• Mathematics
• Economics etc.

The subject has the following focus areas such as:

• Business Environments
• Business Ventures
• Business Roles
• Business Operations

The Purpose for learner in Grade 10-12 to do Business Studies in school has the following:

1. Businesses and individuals csn ensure economic growth and personal financial empowerment in our country.
2. But this requires informed, imaginative, participative, contributing and reflective business practitioners to perform a range of business operations.

This subject will ensure any grade 10-12 learner the following:

• acquire and apply essential business knowledge, skills and principals.
• create business opportunities while respecting human rights and the environment.
• apply basic leadership and management skills and principles to accomplish business goals
• learners will have lifelong knowlege and how to manage themselves and the activities.
• learners who do business studies will be able to persue either formal employment or entrepreneurial activities.
• learners will be able to be committed to developing others through business ventures.
